Currently a master's student in history at the Université de Sherbrooke, Philippe Michon studies history and computing under the direction of prof. Léon Robichaud. After a stint at the Laboratoire de muséologie et d'ingénierie de la culture (LAMIC, Université Laval) under the direction of Philippe Dubé, Philippe Michon is currently a research assistant at the Laboratoire d'histoire et de patrimoine de Montréal and Montréal, plaque tournante des échanges, a research partnership financed by SSHRC. He is currently developping a linked data directory of Canadian HGIS datasets and resources. He will soon work on connecting the project bibliography of the history of Montreal with VIAF.

I am currently revising a directory of Canadian HGIS datasets and resources which will be published online by Montréal, plaque tournante des échanges. After the completion of this project, I will connect the project's 7, 500 title bibliography with linked data projects such as VIAF. As part of my master's thesis I am developping a pilot project to link the Répertoire du patrimoine culturel du Québec (online cultural heritage database) to linked and open databases (Dbpedia, FOAF).
