Research projects manager at the National Library of Wales The research department is fairly new and was set up the world's first ever Chair in Digital Collections to assist with technical issues across the research projects within the library.

|Linked Open Data Projects||
I am relatively new to linked data but I am currently part of a small team looking to open up our data sets through data.llgc.org.uk which will host raw datasets from a variety of existing project as well as new datasets from current projects.
We currently have a large volume of Welsh Shipping records which have been converted to linked data and will be the first data set available publicly both to download and query.
We are also looking at our vast newspaper collection and how others may access this data through a possible Sparql endpoint.
Cyrmu1900 is a crowdsourcing project that we will be converting to Linked data and releasing later this year.
The Wales at war project is a large project working with schools across Wales to transcribe and research the history of fallen soldiers from their local war memorials. One of the main outcomes of this project is to make all the links between soldiers, battles, locations and other events available as Linked Open Data via its own API.
