Short Bio

I am an Assistant Professor at the School of Information Studies, McGill University (Montreal, Canada). My teaching expertises include cataloguing, indexing, classification and information retrieval. I completed my Ph.D. at the École de bibliothéconomie et des sciences de l'information, Université de Montréal. My doctoral thesis examined the role of language in indexing and retrieving images in a multilingual context. My main research interests deal with cross-language information retrieval, image indexing and metadata.
I have published in a number of scholarly journals, including the Journal of Information Ethics, Knowledge Organization, The Indexer, Library Hi Tech, and Documentation et bibliothèques. I presented papers at conferences such as ACFAS, CAIS-ACSI, ISKO, NASKO, ISKO France, ISKO UK, LIDA, and ASIS&T.

Interest in LODLAM

As a researcher at the School of Information Studies, I am involved in several projects dealing with indexing and image retrieval.
Right now I am developping a bilingual taxonomy meant to be used for image description. I am also developing a bilingual search interface for image retrieval
I am teaching in both areas Librarianship and Museology.
I am very much interested in the content of LODLAM and I wish to create a greater network with people that will be attending.

I am not involved in LOD right now but it is definitively something in which I am looking to get involved in the future.
My main interest is "images" so I believe attending the LODLAM conference will broaden my horizons.
