I am a researcher and developer at the Ontology Engineering Group from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM), Spain. I am the technology leader from the datos.bne.es, the Linked Data from Biblioteca Nacional de España. I am currently involved in several projects with state and university libraries, including the initiative marimba4lib together with the Open University (UK). My interests are cultural heritage data integration, Linked Data, and multilingualism.
|Interest in LODLAM||
I am particularly interested in the integration of linked data within editorial and curation workflows, library linked data life-cycles and evolution, user interaction both at the end user level and the data curator/producer level, and in the integration of data in different natural languages.
I would like to share my experiences and ideas as well as to learn from the other (surely outstanding) participants to help move forward the vision of Linked Data in the cultural domain.
|Linked Open Data Projects||
(2) We have recently launched a new initiative, marimba4lib , together with Mathieu d'Aquin, leader of http://data.open.ac.uk/ to help libraries to seamlessly publish and enrich library linked data. We are currently developing the beta release that will leverage the experiences and technologies from datos.bne.es and data.open.ac.uk
(3) I am involved or being involved in several W3C groups and given talks at several international events, such as the DCMI Conference 2011 at the Hague , CGIS LOD Conference in Edinburgh , a seminar at INRIA Rhone-Alpes seminar , among others.
(4) I have being involved on the publication of other Linked Datasets like the Spanish Met Agency and currently working on unlocking the metadata of the seven public university libraries of Madrid under open licenses using linked data principles and technologies.
(5) I am co-organizing the workshop "User interaction built on library linked data " for the pre-conference to the 79th World Library and Information Conference. (Call for papers not yet announced, please do not circulate)
